Hugs Kisses and Thanks

Hi there...today I am the featured Designer over at Action Wobbles. Hope you all enjoyed Valentines Day. I have Thank You Notes to write. It is so easy to make quick notes that look like they took forever! I love that pinks and corals are staying popular. First because I like it and second because I have lots of this beautiful coral cardstock I got when a stationery shop went out of business. I used lots of products from MyCreativeTime. I layered a Vintage Label Die with Scalloped and Stitched Circle. The sentiment is from Thank you Hugs. The Card is embossed with Cuttlebug folder Wicker Weave, I prize I won at the Cuttlebug Spot!!

The Kiss is cut using 2 layers of chipboard (aka a Ritz Cracker Box) and 1 layer of this fabulous foil wrapping paper I had. The little taggie is stamped from the same set MyCreativeTime Chocolate Greetings! The title alone made me want the set!!

And of course had to put the Candy Kiss on a Wobble. I trimmed it a bit so it wouldn't show.

Isn't it pretty?
Here is the trimmed wobble stuck on. You can see how thick the kiss is too!

Oooops I didn't mean to wobble the whole card!

Magnets on a Metal Bucket

Can't beat the dollar spot for cute and fun pieces to embellish. Over at PeachyKeen I am getting in under the deadline and the challenge is metal. I cut little daisies out of paper and put faces inside metal bottle caps using Just baby Faces. Adhere this to little magnets and they stick to this cute little metal bucket. A nice little spot to stash pencils and pens, mail etc. I was gone all week and rushed to get this done. Sorry about the photo quality...I only had minutes to spare!

Relish today Ketchup Tomorrow

Relish today...
Ketchup tomorrow!!!
Today I am designing for FCCB and we have our new challenge #150
Fun with Puns
I used Cricut Cartridge Block Party for the Hot Dog, Relish and Ketchup.
I pop dotted the Relish with 1 layer and the Ketchup with 2 layers.
The Relish is actually the BBQ Sauce cut in green!
The Pun was printed and cut with MyCreativeTime XL Curly Label  and Stitched Label Dies.
The perfect card for someone who needs a pick-me-up or a reminder that it is ok to take off to the beach on a sunny day. The dishes will wait for you. I hope you will join in todays' challenge.

Dapper Little Man

Needing to make 50 Baby Shower Invitations. Gonna have lots of mustaches and bow ties for this one! Our new grandson is expected end of May, beginning of June! The baby is cut from Baby Steps with his little hat, mustache and bowtie from Billionaire. The letter spelling OH BOY are cut from Chip Decor. I love this font for cutting tiny letters as well as the huge ones! My sons' only comment was can you give him brown eyes? I said he might get my green ones. He said okay but I know they won't be blue!! Guess I will line his little head in brown.

Happy Birthday To You

Simple and pretty Birthday Card. For the Button Challenge at The Cuttlebug Spot. Love this Happy Birthday Ribbon. And the rolled rose from MyCreativeTime. Great way to use your stash.

Wedding Bridesmaid Favor

When the wedding gets closer, the Bridesmaids get in full swing and it is nice to have little favors to surprise them and thank them. This purse was cut from Forever Young with the Bridesmaid from Sweethearts. It is large enough to hold a chapstick, a wetnap, small altoid mints even several Hugs and Kisses. Makes up quickly and nice to just give an extra thank you. You can line it and coordinate the ribbon in your wedding colors.

Who Knew?

When I saw the Polar Bear Challenge over at Die Cut Divas...my first reaction was what???? Well, I must have dreampt about it because when I woke up I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I am not a soda drinker but I love the Polar Bear Ads for Coke and I have many Diet Coke drinking friends!!! In fact I made a scrub top with Diet Coke fabric for one of my friends. I thought I would make her a card to go with it. I used Cricut cartridges Nifty Fifties and Joys of the Season. I applied Glossy Accents to the bottle so it looks shiny and glassy! The bears are pop dotted once for the mama, twice for the baby bear and 3 times for the bottle. I used paper doilies again because I wanted little snow mounds and they worked perfectly. Hope you like my silly little card and go look at the challenge!!!

For all you Purple People Eaters

Happy Birthday to my niece who loves purple! She is painting her room dark purple now. I made her this little birthday card to go with the purple scarf I am going to make her. She lives out of state so I will include some purple balloons, purple streamers and purple candies for a little party in a box! The cupcake is cut from Home Decor and the striped background is made by layering 2 shades of purple. The cupcake is pop dotted several layers, embossed with a paisely cuttlebug folder and the cute little cherry is highlighted with Glossy Accents.

The Month of Love - Valentine Home Decor

Hello my friends. I am the designer for TheBugBytes today with some home decor that will hang on our front door for the month of February. I started with a foam heart shape and got out my tulle in 2 shades of pink, grey and lavendar. I cut pieces 6" wide and about 12" long and just tied it around the heart. The sparkly metal hearts dangling in the center were a find in a clearance bin at Joannes. You know because Valentines goodies are on clearance before Christmas!!! I wanted to add large flowers on one side so I got out Cricut Cartridge Giant Flowers. These were cut at 5", 3" and 2". I added some of the thin satin ribbon in the same colors as the tulle. This turned out to be a pretty wreath. I hope you found some inspiration today.

Enjoy your Special Day

Over at The Kraft Journal the challenge is to make a project using White on Kraft. I have been wanting to play with these paper doilies I had on hand. I thought I could add a print if it was mostly white and still stick to the challenge.

Across the Miles

Card Partially Opened
It's a sketch challenge over at Peachy Keen this week and I am ready!!! I knew I wanted a rainbow of color on a primarily white background. Miles apart...but close in my heart. The sentiment is from MyCreativeTime along with the balloon and cloud dies Fly Away With Me. I stamped the cute little clouds with Dolly Dumplings from Peachy Keen and chalked their little chubby cheeks with peach and pink. If this card style has a name I don't know it since I just designed it myself.

Thank you card

Inside is a gift card for Chick Filet. The rep at ATT helped us so much when my mom got her new phone and she wanted to take her to lunch. She declined but I suggested to my mom a giftcard to a nearby eatery. We could see Chick Filet across the street so I said I could make the card with a chicken and say: Thank you. Without your help, I would have had ruffled feathers!

She knows I can be a bit eccentric and she doesn't always visualize what is in my head but when she saw the finished product she loved it! The chicken is cut from Animal Kingdom and is pop dotted up on the XL Label die from MyCreativeTime.

L is for the way you look at me

Had to make a quick Valentine Banner to hang before the big day. I treated myself to spending $2 on some Recollections Paper in the clearance bin. Love the way the blue looks with the pink and red. My base is made using coasters from Outback. They are 4 inch square. The letters are cut from Storybook Font at 2 inches. I used the negative from MyCreativeTime XL Label Die. Just typed the first stanza of the song and added it to my little banner.

Purple and Red Valentine Treat

Super quick and easy if you need to make a ton! I found these purple heart chocolate candies that matched the red ones perfectly and looked great with the dark chocolate Kisses. Grabbed my Martha Stewart Lacy Heart Border Punch and some red and purple scraps for a topper.

Pucker Up and Blow

I saw a similar idea on Pinterest combining candy Kisses and Gumballs. You will see this more as I perfect it. It is a good start but I really want it to say Blow Kisses or Pucker Up and Blow! The cute sentiment and frog are both cut from Sweethearts at 3" and attached to a layered XL Label Die from MyCreativeTime. It is tied up with some sheer turquoise ribbon that I had in my stash. The cello bag is a little big. I think it is a pretzel bag. I have some 1"x 8" cello bags in my stash so I think I will dig those up and try again. This would also work with a SRM clear Tube. Hmmmm I know I have some of those too. So maybe in a couple weeks I will create several ideas and take a vote!! This is good for a start and frankly...our grandson won't care what it looks like! He gets gumballs!!

Valentines Day Treat

Good day my faithful followers. Today on FCCB we are having Challenge #18 -- Make a Valentine.
I hope you will be inspired to join in the fun. I love making sweet treats. When I saw these Hello Kitty Jelly Bellys I knew what I wanted to do. I grabbed Hello Kitty Greetings and cut the cute HK holding a heart. It layers so easily. All I added was some chunky glitter to the heart and some Glossy Accents to the bow. Cellophane always makes treats more special! So I popped the little box in a bag and added my topper. You could whip these up for a whole class. Me...I am giving this to our granddaughter! I hope you will join in the fun and enter your own project.

In the Pink

Shhhhh here is my hubbys Valentines' Card. It is so me!!! I will sign it though.  Some special things about this card. The hearts and tags are dies from MyCreativeTime and stamped with cutie Peachy Keen faces. I hand cut the mustache using scalloped scissors and regular scissors. Super quick and easy. The origami paper and the ivory lace trims are from my stash. I tied a double bow using pale pink sheer ribbon. I think it is sweet.

Zippity Doo Dah Lollipop Holder

So for this project, I started with some zippers and formed a little rose with leaves. I knew it would look pretty on a white background but what to do...I cut a petal flower from Giant Flowers and added some clear chunky glitter. The  Lollipop Holder was cut by hand as I was going to make an apron! LOL but my embellisments turned out so big you would not have been able to tell!  This is a great package topper, Secret Pal Treat, Neighbor pick-me-up or little thank you for just about anyone who is sweet.

Get Well Soon

Over at MyCreativeTime it is all about embossing. I used 2 kinds of embossing on this Get Well Card. First I ran my Coffee Cup through an embossing folder. Provo Craft Cuttlebug Hearts and then I used embossing powder on the stamped background and sentiment. It gives such a finished professional look to a card or scrapbook page and I should remember to use it more often! I probably got my little jar of embossing powder in the 1980s' but it doesn't take up much room, I have 12 little containers of it in a small storage box and it would never go bad...just bounce in and out of style! I know that a Decaf Mocha would make me feel better!

Rainbow Bright Birthday Card

The Rainbow Challenge at Pink by Design was just the inspiration I needed to design a special birthday card for our Godchild. Looks like the blingy rainbow is just dripping more bling! I spent some time rummaging through my box of My Creative Time Dies and Stamps and decided to use a colorful banner, a pretty rose and a flowy tag for my card. When I create diecuts I cut extra and store them in paper CD envelopes that have the clear window. I mark the envelope and can create with speed when I need to. Or...if our daughter says hey mom...do you have any...I can just let her pick from the envelope!

It's all about the treats

Our daughter runs an in-home Daycare that include 3 - 2yr olds, a 4yr old and a 4mnth old. And then our grandson is in Kindergarten. She is one busy bee. SO...I thought I would help her start our grandsons' Valentines. I had a stack of these red strips left from making 8x8" recipe pages that I cut from 8 1/2x11" cardstock. So I cut these matchbox covers. Inside is a little packet of candy and outside I cut these cherries from Cricut Cartridge Hello Kitty. I got these individually wrapped cinnamon candies. I taped the edges back and stuck them on a foam dot. Now all our daughter has to do is have our grandson write the to and from and his name! Super cute.

BON VOYAGE

Nice to have cards for special occasions. Like family and friends leaving on a trip. This is Challenge #1 for the February release over at PK stamps. Challenge is to use dots and stripes. I used Peachy Keen Cherub Face Assortment with the large 1 3/8" face. I accented it with a white Jelly Roll pen and chalks in red and green. The clouds and balloon is cut using My Creative Time Fly Away with me Dies. I cut it 4 times and paper pieced the balloon and then stamped it with the coordinating Fly Away with Me stamps. The tag and sentiment are made using My Creative Time Fly Away with Me Sentiments. You can tell I loved that release!! Super fun! I used my Bone Folder to make the tag a bit more 3D flying in the wind hanging from the balloon. I tore the papers to make stripes to resemble a landscape and inked the edges of everything.  The balloon and the tag are popped up using pop dots. This card is 4x6 and ready to go!!!

LOVE BUG

Over at Peachy Keen there is the new February Release and they are having a party. Join in the fun! I am a bit backward today as I designed Challenge #2 first. Oh well!!! Lots going on with this simple card. The butterfly is cut from one of the original Cricut Cartridges: New Arrival at 5". That allowed me to use one of my original Peachy Keen stamp sets PK-742 Animal Faces n More. I blushed the little cheeks in rose and then went over it in blue so it met the monochrome assignment. I ran the wings through the Cuttlebug using Divine Swirls. The medallions behind the bug were cut using Nestabilities Scallopped Circle. The little heart for LOVE is My Creative Time Stitched Heart Layering Dies and the font for bug is My Creative Time Lowercase Fun Dies. The buttons on the bug body were from my stash. I accented the wings with Stickles. What a fun card! My inspiration for these colors was a nail polish ad in the new Family Circle Magazine!

Thank you for your Service & Sacrifice

Our nephew can get mail at bootcamp now! Perfect opportunity to create some cards just for him. This one pulled out some of my original craft supplies. The star is from good old George. The original cartridge that came with my little personal Cricut back in 2006! The background on the kraft paper is embossed with Provo Craft embossing folder simply called Stars. I got the 3D effect by using my Bone Folder and folding the flat star on each point. I put pop dots on each point and a bit of cotten in the center so it would retain its' shape. I used chalk on the folds. The sentiment is from one of my treasured prizes from another challenge. Yankee Doodle Dandy from Scrappy Moms. It has some great sentiments.
This is perfect for the Star Challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot.

Lazy Days of Winter

Over at Peachy Keen Stamps it is a color challenge.

Beautiful colors. I chose to make a 5x5 card using Just Because Cards. I stamped a cute Peachy Keen face using Wide Eyed Kids. I accented it with a White Jelly Roll pen, Glossy Accents, pink and red chalk and some grosgrain ribbon. Doesn't that chocolate ice cream look yummy?
