Just when you thought the terrible 2s were over

This card was made using Grumpy from Happily Ever After. The font is a favorite of mine from Mickey Mouse Font. The Circle is cut from Cricut Everyday.

I used chalk and alchohol inks to enhance the cuts, Glossy Accents on the eyes and gold Stickles on the bet buckle. I accented the beard by first drawing lines with a clear sparkle Jelly Roll Pen and then going over it with white smooch. Made what was a flat beard pop.

Thanks for always being there

I bowl every week in a lonnnnnnnng established bowling league and some of the members have been around a lonnnnnnnnng time. Well, there is one couple who is so sweet and he has the Mary Poppins of bowling bags. I can count on him having anything my team or I need. Nothing I can reciprocate so I wanted to make him a Thank You Card. Sometimes less is more. I used the bowling pin and ball from Sports Mania and put glossy accents just on the ball. The sentiment Thanks is a surprise cut from Stamping. I used red stickles and brown chalk to highlight the pin.

He is getting some baked treats along with this note thanking him for always having the things we need. Last week, he buffed a burr out of my ball.

K is for Kindergarten

Well, that went fast. Our grandson starts Kindergarten next month. He is super ready! While I have been making stuff to kick off his teachers 2012 year I forgot to make him something special.

Since getting downsized, my crafting budget is on a short string so I have to use my stash of goodies. I gathered some paper in primary colors. Next was Cricut cartridges Locker Talk, Plantin schoolbook and Paperdoll Dress Up. The adorable apprehensive face is from Peachy Keen Stamps Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment. The sentiment is on a Stitched Scallop and Circle Die set from MyCreativeTime and stamped with All Around Everything and All Around Everything Accessories.

The eyes and apple are accented with a Pentel Sunburst Med Gel Pen in white, A Sharpie no bleed pen in black and glossed with Glossy Accents. The pencil is inked around the edges with Cats Eye Chalk in brown. I love th way this card turned out and I hope it inspired you as we kick off another school year.

Getting ready for Football season

And the requests are rolling in. Hubby is having uniform issue today and practice begins August 1st. My niece is a huge Green Bay Packers fan and asked if I could make her 2 year old this dress that she saw. I used Wonder Under to attach the heart that I cut using the original Cricut Cartridge Good Old George. What a Pair

My mom had quite a day on Tuesday. She had scheduled out-patient surgery on her eye. Before they could leave for that appt., her husband had a problem with his leg that required him to get to Urgent Care. They are both fine now but I wanted to make them a Get Well Card.  I thought What a Pair with Pears was perfect. The pears were cut using Cricut Cartridge Preserves. The bandaged leg is actually the Mummy from Cricut Cartridge Paperdoll Dress Up. The sentiment Feel Better Soon is from my stash of stamps and the cutie faces are from Peachy Keen Stamps Cherub Face Asst.

Santa and I not ready in July

Jump in...the waters' fine. Santa in inner tube (and huge trunks you can't see) is from Jolly Holidays. The wading pool, sun and phrase Jump In are all from H20 Solutions cartridge. The face is stamped using Peachy Keen Blushing Brides. I embossed the beard using Provo Craft Divine Swirls.

Olympic countdown

Good luck USA! I will be watching my favorite sport Gymnastics. YES WE NEED A CARTRIDGE!! But you can get creative by using dancers. I participated in a paperdoll swap featuring Teen Scene. You will see my doll tomorrow! BUT Renee our hostess is showing all the dolls we made and having a Linky Party so you can all create some fun with the dolls too.

This week it's Sarah and I chose to make her in a "competition" leotard and hand cut a balance beam. The Olympic rings are capital Os cut from Nates ABCs.

Family Game Night

Family Game Night was always so much fun. Our grandson loves to play board games and is now mastering Tic Tac Toe. I thought it would be fun to save paper and pencil and make a board and pieces that can be used over and over. The board is laminated and the pieces are on 4 inch squares and adhered to cardboard costers for stability. I adhered a paper CD holder on the back of the board to hold the pieces when we are not playing. The Xs and Ox are cut from patterned paper using Cricut Cartridge Storybook Fat Font. I cut 5 of each piece because you know can tell who wants to finish the cats' game!

Just Chillin

This weeks Cricut Circle Challenge is to follow a sketch.

I used the cute little penguin, igloo and phrase from Create a Critter. I accented the card with rick rack, a brass element and a little candle sticker from Jolee Boutique.

How we really get sunsets in the west!

Maybe it is because it is gray, dreary and rainy on this July 13th but when I saw this weeks Peachy Keen Challenge I knew what I wanted to do. We need to decorate a GiftBag and I LOVE my gift wrap. I have one little closet for just paper, ribbons, gift bags and tags.

So this is how my brain works. I rummaged through my paper stash and found this pink and orange paper in a K&Co stack. I tore it to start my sunset. Next I knew Cricut Cartridge Creat a Critter had a great sun that could be the backdrop for a great Peachy Keen Stamped Face. I used Dolly Dumplins for the crab and Just Baby Faces for the sun. Added some chalked cheeks, white pen accents and more ink! I love these happy faces and you can peachify just about anything!

Then I pulled out Cricut Cartridge Lifes a Beach and cut the mermaid and the crab and the flip flops. I inked a lot, ran the hair through the cuttlebug and used a Jolees birthday candle sticker. Because that is how we get sunsets!! The mermaids climb up on rocks and light candles!!! And the diamonds glisten on the water. All of the papers are solid except for the sunset. I just got carried away inking!

Even though we have beautiful sunsets we still get clouds so I grabbed my cloud die from MyCreativeTime Fly Away with Me. I just inked the edges in blue and layered a few. I love this set because it includes a hot air balloon, a plane and these clouds in 2 sizes. Add to that coordinating stamps and you can play for hours with this one set!!

I like the way it turned out. I sprayed the whole thing with Glimmer Mist and it really made the colors pop and glisten. I just wish I had some sand paper...that is what I would have used to make my sand.
