Best Buds

Ok...for this weeks Peachy Keen Challenge We had to stamp our own background paper. The mailman came early and I got my new All Around Everything Accessories from MyCreativeTime.

I just knew I was gonna stamp those cute tulips and get to use a little punny sentiment Best Buds by stamping super tiny faces with Peachy Keens PK 560 Dolly Dumplin Face Assortment in 3/8". The yellow polka dots are freehand to enhance the background paper.

The pop dotted bouquet of "friends" is from the Cricut Cartridge Spring Cottage .

The stamped images are colored with Spectrum Noir Alchohol Ink Markers on watercolor paper.
LG2, CT4, DR5, BP1 and accented with a Clear Star Jelly Roll Pen, White Jelly Roll Pen, Black Fine Point Sharpee, and 2 shades of green Bic Mark-its.

The computer generated sentiment is cut in layers using Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles

Birthday Party in A Box

The Tool Box on Sweet Tooth Boxes Cricut.com is a generous size cut at 9 1/2 inches. I used a heavy weight Bazzill cardstock for the box.

A little luggage lock will secure it and the handle is sturdy enough to really hold it.

I am sending this out of state to a friend for her birthday. Inside it will have a little birthday party. Invitation, little cake plate, napkin and plastic utensils. A spa sock cupcake, a scented candle, some balloons that are only blown a tiny bit, some confetti, streamers, party horn and a birthday card.

I used primary colors and it screams P A R T Y!!!

The flowers are made using my new flower dies from MyCreativeTIme/ and Cuttlebug Quilling Flowers from Cricut.com

Super fun! All that is missing is a live {{{HUG}}}

Mothers Day Banner

Ok...here we go. Mothers Day is approaching. My Mommy is getting a special gift and this banner will be one of the decorations for the day.

Take 9 colors of papers from your stash of great papers. I love to experiment with different color schemes and this combo came in a dream!

Take 4 different Cricut cartridges.
Banner: Birthday Bash
Flowers: Giant Flowers
Font: Storybook
Charms: Teresa Collins Sophisticated

Close up of Heart

The best lesson on this project is that it makes a HUGE difference in the flowers and leaves to use a cushioned surface and a Metal Ball to get realistic looking flowers and leaves.

I used McGill Craft Molding Mat and Paper Shapers

Seeing if the Park Bench out front will be its' home
While these recommend punches...I found that Cricut Cartridges have amazing petal and leaf shapes in all kinds of cartridges.

I also purchased the book Paper Bouquet by Susan Tierney Cockburn. This is a valuable source to create more realistic flowers.
Close Up of Colors
I hope you enjoyed this banner. I hung the charms with huge paperclips that not only held the charms beautifully but also added necessary weight so the banner doesn't blow all over. The banner flags are attached and hung with lavender tulle. Another feminine touch.

Fancy Frame and Embossed Vellum Flowers

This sweet card has lots of elements but goes together easily. The challenge: Use any Cricut Cartridge with a Frame. I chose Elegant Edges for the looped frame and ran some super shiny paper through The Cuttlebug using Diamond Plate. Check off the Frame!

Now the flowers are made using My Creative Time Flower Petal Dies. I cut vellum envelopes up in powder blue and white. What a difference when you run them through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dot Folder. So dainty and pretty. I curled the edges with scissors and put a little pearl bead in the center. The leaves were cut from 2 shades of green envelopes using the leaves from my CuttlebuQg uilling Flowers. They are the perfect size for these layered flowers.

The sentiment is stamped from My Creative Time All Around Birthday Time using Stampin' Ups' Buckaroo Blue and stamped onto the My Creative Time Scalloped and Stitched Circles,

The background papers are from a prize I won! Echo Park 6x6 Dots and Stripes. I love that little pad and will be sad when I've used it up.

I added a few blue rhinestone bitty flowers from my stash 'cause you always need some blingage!

Knifty Knitted Hats for my friends' Daycare

I was asked to make knitted hats for my friend so she could give them to her Daycare. Some of the little babes must have grown since ordered but they look so adorable.

They were fun to make on the Knifty Knitter and now she learned how to use one too. My secret is out!

A Rose is a Rose

Here is a card using primary colors.
The rose is from Walk in My Garden and the R is from Princess Party.

A 10 pound Newborn Girl is still cute

Here is a cute card I made for a friend who just had a baby girl twice the size of our baby girl! She chose the theme of jungle animals prior to her birth so this card will be perfect.

The cut is from Cricut Cartridge New Arrival and the Peachy Keen Stamps designed for this cartridge is Baby Animal Faces and More #PK-742.
I practiced shading with my new Spectrum Noir Alcohol Inks. The white of the eyes are with a Jelly Roll Pen and the pen stitiching is with a Super Fine Point Sharpeze Marker.

The cute "little" 5" elephant is pop dotted with 4 layers and the leaves are only glued down at the bottom to give a flowy dimension.

Mirror Mirror

Ok...I think this will be my last entry for the Letter Envy Challenge. I sure have had fun with this cartridge. I made a LO that I have been wanting to try for a while using high gloss silver paper for a mirror. This is going in my book about me with a journal to see what long distance relative family members may look like.

This fabulous font is from the Cricut Cartridge Letter Envy. The flowers are from Flower Shoppe and the fun ferns are from Spring Cottage.

Hubby and I had a difference of opinion. I thought the picture with my reflection was so cool. He thought I was taking the easy route and needed to take a pic without a reflection. So you get both!

The pastel ribbon is simply Pastels.
I used pomoms for the centers of my flowers. (talk about the easy route, but hey...I am sick)

This was a fun project.

Taking the Unlimited Letter Envy Challenge seriously

Just a couple days left for the Cricut Circle Magazine Challenge. This month it is an unlimited amount of entries as long as you include Letter Envy with 2 other cuts. Well, this challenge has taught me a few things.

When I had asked if this cartridge had a matched font...I was told no. WRONG. It has a beautiful 3 layered matched font in both upper and lower case!!!

I needed a new dbookmark. I usually read my Nook but I have borrowed some paper books. I usually grab an old receipt for a bookmark! I thought I should really have a nice one.

I used Letter Envy for my initials LV in 1 1/2" - my layers are celery green, pale pink and light blue.
I added some iRock gems to give a little bling while still having a flat bookmark.
The tulips and the picket fence are from Spring Cottage.
The base of my bookmark is a blank invitation Pink Melody from Inviting Company.

It never rains in California

IT POURS!!!

The theme is to use an Umbrella. We usually don't get much rain here but it has been a pretty wet season this year with almost every weekend having rain.

For this 5x5" square card I cut the Umbrella from Cricut Cartridge Everyday PopUps. I am using that cartridge for another project and saw the umbrella and thought hmmm.
Teen Paperdolls. The grey background is a crest cut from Letter Envy.

I actually colored the twine ribbon myself. It is crochet cotton cording and I colored the stripes with Sharpeeze in pink and black. The glitter on the dress is Recollections Pink.

The sentiment is Fiskars coffee set and says Your Kindness Warms my heart. I colored the Peachy Keen face with black and white signo pens.

Cricut Weekly Challenge

For this weeks Cricut Challenge, we had to make an Easter themed project. Use Rickrack and a sticker.

Hmmmmm well, I have been wanting to make the little basket on Tags Bags Boxes and More 2. This is fit to page and cuts at 5 1/4" - so you could cut 2 out of 1 12x12" sheet of paper. The Phrase Happy Easter is also from TBBM2. I put white rickrack on the handle and found a little flower sticker that coordinated perfectly with the floral trim I used around the basket. I filled it with little styrofoam eggs wrapped in tulle of turquoise and bright pink.

Enjoy~

Vinyled Easter Buckets Using Letter Envy

And Bump in the Night. Our daughter said NO MORE BASKETS!! So,  I got these fabulous pails and shovels at Michaels for $1!!!! Now one can always use another bucket!!

I vinyled the names using one of the matched fonts in Letter Envy. I did not lose or forget about dotting the "i" that is no dot!!! I love this little monster on Bump in the Night because it has a huge mustache just like my hubby.

These are filled with bubbles, candy, gift certificates to McDs and Baskin Robbins and a little toy.

I think they will like them.

Hibiscus Centerpieces

Using PCs Cartridge GIANT FLOWERS. I made 6 centerpieces for a Luau. I used Bazzil Premium Cardstock and inked the edges using Cat Eye Chalks. I created loops out of the wire to glue the flowers to the stems and curved the petals and the leaves around a fat pencil. The kind Kindergarteners use.

I cut the floral foam to fit in the glass fishbowl and wrapped in 2 shades of cellophane. The fabulous ribbon is Offray 1 1/2" Shocking Pink/White Hawaiian Flowers.

These are going to look great at the party. There are a total of 30 flowers. 5 in each centerpiece. The large ones are 6 inches across and the smaller ones are 4 inches across.
