Make your Dreams come True

Our grandson turns 6 and I wanted to make him a banner for his room. His room is Teal, Lime and Purple~ he says when he grows up he wants to be a Scientist, a Diver and an Astronaut. He tells everyone he has to go to law school after College so he has some BIG dreams that we want to encourage and maintain. I used Pretty Pennants, Varsity Letter and Everyday Paperdolls.

Football is Life dear friend

It is my day to post at Action Wobbles today and with Superbowl Sunday just days away I made this sweet little card for a friend who is not really a fan. In our house FOOTBALL IS LIFE...the rest is just details. We watch football, we attend games, hubby coaches youth football and we always have or attend a huge party on SuperBowl Sunday. This year a California team is playing so I will be rooting for them. Not as a fair weather fan but defending our state!! Go 49ers!!! This football birdie is from 3 Birds on Parade. I purposely chose soft colors of lavendar and blue because it is going to a non-fan with no team color preference! I used Glossy Acccents on the helmet so it looked realistic and added some wiggly eyes and gems to go with the little football ribbon that always makes its' way out this time of year! Have you gotten your Wobble on yet? Now head on over to Theresa's Shop to get some of these, they are super fun and add just the right personality to your project.

For my Project I have decided on some Home Decor. A decorated tissue box. ***Edited Jan 29 to say, I thought I was being so different when I made this and scheduled this project in December. But I have seen decorated Tissue Boxes in Challenges all over. I guess creative minds think alike!***I just covered a purchased tissue box with papers in red and black. I added a doily border by cutting the tops off of inexpensive heart doilies. All 4 sides are coordinated so it is cute from any angle. Perfect a little gift for a co-worker, neighbor, nurse or teacher.

The hearts and flowers are cut from dies from MyCreative Time. The 3 layer Petal Flower, The 3 layer hearts, the rolled flower die and the scalloped heart die. I love that the they all coordinate with stitched edges and sized perfectly to go together.

As if that is not festive and busy enough...I added some cute cupids to wobble around and add some fun. These are cut from Cricut Cartridge Sweethearts and secured with Action Wobbles. What do you think???

Next up is our BLOG Hop caboose Sherri. Thank you for stopping by and sharing in all the creativity. If you are new to my BLOG, I hope you will come back. I read every comment and appreciate my followers.

And as always you can get Wobbles of your own from the Scrapbooking Queen.

Are you Ready for some FOOTBALL???

SuperBowl 2013 is this Sunday
Here is a Centerpiece I made for the big event.
This time of year my standard cartridges are:
SPORTS MANIA
EVERYDAY PAPERDOLLS
VARSITY LETTER
Grabbed a Tomato Sauce Can and covered it with Green Paper and added some White Stripes
When I do cuts this large (6") making the bouquet on sticks gets touchy so instead, I grabbed an old wire coat hanger and bent it. I gave a subtle touch as to which team I am rooting for...can you see it?

Hearts hearts hearts

How many can you count? Over at PeachyKeen this week...the challenge is to make a project using hearts. I love hearts and I used Peachy Keen Stamps PKSC-04 April 2012. I stamped the sentiment Our Love is Timeless on a satin ribbon with Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. The little Fairy is from Peachy Keen PK-21 Mini Fairies and Gnomes. And don't PeachyKeen stamps work well with MyCreativeTime Dies? I used several on this design. The flowers are Flower Petal Dies with tiny heart centers cut from Stitched Heart Layering Dies. The big heart where I stamped the clock is the negative from Stitched Scallop Heart Die Set. And finally the XO hug and kiss are cut from Lower Case Fun. I added blinges with some little flower gems, clear Stickles and clear chunky glitter. The trims are from Websters Pages.

Time to Party

Over at FCCB this week, our DT Challenge is Time Flies. Our assignment to include a clock or something that pertains to time. With New Years Eve, I was helping my mom with her party decorations. We stuck to Silver, Black and Gold. For this project, I used a silver charger plate and decorated it with vinyl.

3 2 1 Challenge - Hip to be Square

Good morning. Some bright cheery greeting on this cold rainy morning. At MyCreativeTime it is a 3-2-1 Challenge. Your design elements are limited to 3 buttons, 2 patterned papers and 1 bow. I made a 5x5 square card. No extra postage because I am hand delivering this one!!

The flower in the center is from Stitched Scallop Circle and stamped with All Around Birthday Time. The little tag is from the layered small Stitched Curly Label Die. All run through the Cuttlebug. The thin fiber around the buttons and the bow are from Lizs' Paperloft. I just love her trims! The striped sheer wired ribbon was in my stash and I loved the way it complimented the background paper.

I hope you will try this challenge. Comment here that you did and I will come see and leave you some bloggie love!

Happy Birthday to our Favorite Nurse Manager

This giftbag was created for a good friend of ours who is celebrating a birthday. I used Paperdoll DressUp. One of my very first cartridges. This nurse doll was cut at 11 1/2". I stamped the face with PeachyKeen Face Assortment (also one of my first PK stamps). I like them  because you can stamp the eyes separate from the nose and smile and fit a larger face. The font is cut from Chip Decor at 1 1/2" and the cute little heart is from MyCreativeTime Stitched Scallop Heart Die Set .

Cupcake Bouquet

It's a Cupcake Party! Mmmmmm Chocolate Frosting and a little red heart candy. The cupcakes were cut from Sweet Treats and accented with Clear Chunky Glitter. The papers coodinate with the printed paper I used to cover a soup can for my bouquet. I attached the cupcakes to colorful paper straws. I made the bow at CHA with the new Zutter Bow Maker. That product jumped on to my wish list!!! Some pink shreds finished off my simple bouquet. I love making these bouquets. They are nice to have when you make a hospital visit, welcome a new neighbor or want to have some themed home decor. Watch nest week for the coordinating card that is going with this one! What is your favorite cupcake or muffin? I love Lemon Poppy Seed muffins and Red Velvet Cupcakes.

A Fairy amongst the Tulips

Can it get any better??? Moved out of my comfort zone to share this one with you because I am still practicing. I am new at coloring with my Spectrum Noir Inks. I found this stamp in my stash and knew it was perfect for a dear fun friend who loves Fairies. And me...need I say more about Tulips? This was just the perfect element. I love how I was able to capture the sheer look of the fairy wings. I had to accentuate that more by adding clear glitter!! I even chalked up the background of the card base as it was all the solid ivory before I got all messy with chalk! I added hearts so I could stamp my sentiment without taking away from my image. If I could master flowers and leaves...I think I would be happy! I used 25 different colors on this one.

Me and My Teddy Bear

When our daughter was growing up she took tap and ballet lessons starting at age 2 1/2.

Her first little recital was a tap dance to the song Me and My Teddy Bear. They had frilly costumes, big bonnets and got to dance with their favorite teddy bear. The more loved the better!!

When Peachy Keen announced this weeks challenge to use a bear and make a 3D item, this is what came to mind. Super cute to dress up a plain white gift bag!

The bear is cut from Cricut Cartridge Teddy Bear Parade and I chose the Cupid Costume. It is accented with wiggle eyes, chunky glitter and Glossy Accents. The girl is cut from One of my original Cricut Cartridges Paperdoll Dress Up. Her cute little face is stamped with Peachy Keen Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment. Her face is accented with a white Jelly Roll Pen, a Green permanent marker, Pink Chalked cheeks and Glossy Accents. To give some dimension to the hair, I used my Spectrum Noir Alchohol Inks. I typed out the song, it is a really cute poem. All the hearts are cut using MyCreativeTime stitched heart dies. Red and White Trendy Twine and scattered little hearts finish it off and I really like it. Do you remember your little ones dance recital songs? Or perhaps your own? Mine was Ballin' the Jack.

Today is my first assignment as a Designer for The Bugbytes. I spent a couple days at CHA and learned several techniques that I could incorporate in my crafting. Today, I am sharing something new to me. This multi dimensional card has many layers. The star of the card...the heart is a Tim Holtz heart shape covered in regular tin foil. You crinkle it up and adhere it to the cardboard. Now I knew this because I have been covering that adorable Chocolate Kiss Die from MyCreativeTime. What I didn't know what that it could be painted and look awesome!! The paint is Viva Colour Croco Crackle Paint in Gold, Viva Colour Inka Gold in Gold, Lava Red, Love Struck Red. The heart is then randomly wrapped with Burlap String. Isn't it sparkly and pretty? It coordinated beautifully with some paper in my stash that had the same color hearts amongst the clouds.

Love Love Love Action Wobbles

I am loving the patterned papers in the Recollections Valentine's Day Paper Pack. The background of my card are these itty bitty cutie patootie teenie tiny hearts! I created a border using some floral paper and a scalloped edge using the tiny red with white grid. The bow is made with Offray Grosgrain ribbon when I tested the new Zutter Bow Maker (THAT IS ON MY WISH LIST FROM CHA).

I wanted Cupid to be the wobbling star but to do that he needed a background to hold the Action Wobble. I positioned a white scalloped heart from MyCreativeTime flat on the card so it stays put as Cupid and the red and white card have their little Wobble party! Love Love Love is stamped using CTMH celebration in Real Red by Stampin Up. The hardest part of this card is photographing the wobble!

Please go vote for my bear!!!!

Hi my friends. Please go vote for my Bear at http://melodylanedesigns.blogspot.com/2013/01/naked-teddy-bear-parade-contest.html 11th bear posted - 1st Bear 3rd row. Thank you!!!!

Much Love

Over at Peachy Keen Challenge this week we have a sketch challenge. I got out some beautiful paper from the Recollections Valentines Day Paper Pad. I love mixing kraft and red. The hearts were cut using MyCreativeTime new heart dies. I added some solid white cardstock to pop up the colors and coordinate with this glitzy white and gold twine I snared at the Dollar Spot at Target. The cutie face is stamped with Peachy Keen Wide Eyed Kids in 1 1/8". A personal favorite. I accentuated the eyes with a white Jelly Roll Pen and Glossy Accents. I used Glossy accents on the little heart in the twine so it looked more like an embellishment and also one of the hearts on the patterned paper that says Sweet Love. That highlighted my sentiment without having the need for stamping more.

It's a Mans' World

Over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog It's a Mans' World. Our Assignment is to make a masculine project. I have been wanting to do this type of card for quite some time incorporating the words Tee and Tea. The golf clubs and golfer are from Cricut Cartridge Sports Mania and I chose the teapot from Folk Art Festival. I used papers to represent argyle socks and funky striped golf pants. The stamp He has his Tee and I have mine is from MyCreativeTime Tea Party Stamp Set. I added a real tee for the I in the word LIFE. Hope you enjoy it. I find male cards are the most difficult to design. No bows, bling, flowers or lace is really hard for me! Let's see what you can do!!! Join in the challenge and enter your design over at FCCB this week.

Bringing back some favorites while at CHA this week

I won't be crafting much this week as I am heading to CHA in Anaheim. Looking forward to seeing all the new crafting tools and supplies that I KNOW I must have. Here is a Get Well Card I made for my sister-in-law when she had back surgery last summer. Mickey is on an Action Wobble sitting in front of his buddy Pooh. If you missed it the first time...here it is.

If you don't have any Action Wobbles of your own you can pick them up at the
Royal Shoppe and you won't be disappointed - they give life to all your projects :) Warning: they are addictive!  You still have time to join our Current Challenge, but don't delay because there will be a new one starting tomorrow.  We would love it if you would become a follower of our Action Wobble blog and "Like" us on Facebook and share your Wobble projects with us.

Blessings Elijah on your Baptism Day

Shades of blues, ivories and whites make up this design. The cross is the reason I purchased the Cricut Cartridge Wedding Solutions and is really the only cut I use on that cartridge but I use it often. I added a simple double bow in a soft blue satin and a sheer ivory. The 3 stones represent the Trinity and I added gold embossing powder to the filagree in the cross that is pop dotted up from the base of the card.

This card is entered in some challenges. Join in the fun!!!

New Love Crochetted Lacey Ruffled Scarf

I have seen these scarves all over Pinterest, Blogs, FB and on people! I knew I had to have one. (or 5). These are made with Starbella Premier yarn. Don't be afraid if you don't know how to knit or crochet. The yarn does all the work. I followed some you-tube videos to learn and have these babies down to about an hour. They will make some special little gifts and on this freezing day it is a nice little project.

Here is how I learned:

Be Mine FOREVER

Over at Peachy Keen Stamps it is time for another Anthing Goes Challenge. I just received my new stamps and dies from My Creative Time and they coordinate so well with the cutie pie faces from Peachy Keen. The cherries are cut at 3" and stamped with Peachy Keen Cherub Face Asst. I love these faces and they come in 3/8" all the way up to 1 3/8" in this 31 piece set! I accented the face with a White Jelly Roll pen and some hole punch cheeks for dimension. I covered the cherries cut from Cricut Cartridge Hello Kitty Greetings with Glossy Accents by Ranger and they look good enough to eat! The foil kiss candy was cut using real foil that I adhered to some chipboard from My Creative Time Chocolate Greetings that includes this yummy cut as well as 35 sentiments that fit the little tag die perfectly., and the FOREVER is stamped from the Forever stamp set. The little hearts on the top are cut from Stitched Heart Layering Dies. I treated them to some chunky clear glitter for added sweetness. The open hearts behine the cherries are cut using Stitched Scalloped Heart Die Set. Another beauty that you will be seeing on my projects in the next few weeks. Hubby loves Chocolate Covered Cherries. I love Chocolate and Pink so I thought this makes the perfect little card for Valentines Day. Be sure to head on over to Peachy Keen and enter your creation.

Army Cards redo

If you are a regular follower, you know I made some Army Cards for my nephew who is leaving for Boot Camp. His going away party is tomorrow. My son said that he did not like the colors and that I should have used Army colors! I thought I was being Patriotic with my red, white and blue and my dad and brother were Navy! So, it was back to the drawing board...what do you think of these?

Here is the original post if you missed it:

Happy New Year 2013

May your New Year be prosperous, healthy and aware. And may everyday bring you smiles from a bear!!! Today is my first post as a designer on the Action Wobbles site. I cut the new year bear from Cricut Cartridge Teddy Bear Parade. I accented him with Martha Stewart Chunky clear glitter and added festive trims for a party design. Look closely and you will find seam binding crinkle ribbon, twine, cord and glittery netting trim along with rhinestones and a beaded stick pin. The sentiment Happy New Year is stamped using MyCreativeTime card sentiments that come with the 3x3 fancy tri-fold Card Die. I love using Action Wobbles on my projects. They are hard to photograph wobbling but so fun to give and receive! I look forward to using them more often and sharing them with you.
