Mothers Day Banner

Ok...here we go. Mothers Day is approaching. My Mommy is getting a special gift and this banner will be one of the decorations for the day.

Take 9 colors of papers from your stash of great papers. I love to experiment with different color schemes and this combo came in a dream!

Take 4 different Cricut cartridges.
Banner: Birthday Bash
Flowers: Giant Flowers
Font: Storybook
Charms: Teresa Collins Sophisticated

The best lesson on this project is that it makes a HUGE difference in the flowers and leaves to use a cushioned surface and a Metal Ball to get realistic looking flowers and leaves.

I used McGill Craft Molding Mat and Paper Shapers

Seeing if the Park Bench out front will be its' home
While these recommend punches...I found that Cricut Cartridges have amazing petal and leaf shapes in all kinds of cartridges.

I also purchased the book Paper Bouquet by Susan Tierney Cockburn. This is a valuable source to create more realistic flowers.

I hope you enjoyed this banner. I hung the charms with huge paperclips that not only held the charms beautifully but also added necessary weight so the banner doesn't blow all over. The banner flags are attached and hung with lavender tulle. Another feminine touch.
