Off to the Party

We are going out tonight to celebrate one of our friends' birthdays. I had picked up a couple of gag items and hubby got him a GiftCard. So I repurposed a Starbucks Bag and made a coordinating Gift Card Holder. For the Gift Card Holder I used MyCreativeTIme Gift ard Die. I cut it twice. Once in the red and once in the polka dot and glued them together. The Football and Cheer Bears are from Cricut.com Teddy Bear Parade and the single football on the Gift Card Holder is from Sports Mania. I embossed the football using snakeskin. I really need pigskin.

Thank you for all the love on my 6th Anniversary

Creepy Coffin Candy Boxes and Tags

Brew your iced tea, make your coffee and take care of business because this is a big post. My brother had seen the coffin candy box I made and requested a dozen with tags. He is affiliated with the West Coast Haunters Association and does an amazing Haunted House at his home in Oregon. His Avatar is Shier Terror in shades of Red and Black. I had made them shirts in the past and we love the drippy letters on Happy Hauntings. The layered flowers are made with MyCreativeTime Flower Petal Dies. The paper is a fabulously creepy silver glitter on black paper. I put a little red rhinestone in the middle of each one. The rolled flowers and leaves are from Cricut Cartridge Artiste. I used Glossy Accents on the drippy S on the tag so it looked like blood. The tags are cut at 4" using Cricut Cartridge Pretty Pennants.
Side View to see the red bottoms

Here are all 12 boxes completed.

Inside dimension of the box. I was going to show how a regular size Hershey Bar fit but...you know how that goes. Here you can see the an unsharpened pencil fits end to end and it is pretty deep to hold lots of goodies.

Pinterest inspired infinity scarf

http://pinterest.com/pin/259097784781655448/

Here is the inspiration for this scarf. My hubbys' t-shirts are not safe! I used MyCreativeTime rolled and layered flowers to make a card to coordinate with the burlap flowered pin made to enhance this scarf. All I did was cut a 2 inch strip of burlap and rolled and coiled it. Then hotglued it to a chipboard circle. The "leaves" are a sage green burlap. I folded a little square into a triangle and brought the points to the center.

This is a gift for a friend so I used MyCreativeTime layered flower petal dies. The  Pinterest inspiration for the tag: http://pinterest.com/pin/123919427217327468/ I hope you like this little gift.

Creepy

I love this paper I got in a prize package! Thank you again Exploring Cricut. The monster was cut from Cricut Cartridge Bump in the Night. I just cut the monster without the layers since I wanted to stamp a face on it. The face is from Peachy Keen Cherub Face Assortment.

Frankie Box and Card

For this weeks Peachy Keen Challenge we had to decorate a box. The face is stamped with my first   Peachy Keen stamp set from long ago - Paperdoll Basic Faces. This set has separate eyes and smiles. I added some stitches to the mouth and face and used Glossy Accents and a Gelly Roll white pen on the eyes.

The card features the word Eek! Both the box and the sentiment are from my very favorite cartridge Artiste. It is so much fun...my other cartridges are lonely!

My Gymnastics Card was Featured Today

Go check out the Cricut Challenge today. A sports theme. We are in full swing with football season at our house so I will be pulling out Sports Mania, Locker Talk and Varsity Letter like I do every year!

Monogrammed Note and Coffin Candy Box

Playing with Fontopia and Artiste and having a blast. This little notecard was cut at 4" and the monogrammed and layered L was cut at 2". The coffin box, rolled flowers, the paper bow and the black leaves are some of the many 3D projects from Artiste. I love mixing purples with orange and black at Halloween.

Congrats you're a Star!

The Challenge: Make your card pop! I used everyway I could think of on this card. On the outside I have a little star with a Action Wobble attached to the front of the card using background paper with constellations from DCWV Natural Stack. Now I have a border on the top of the card for a reason. It is a pop up card and I needed to cover up the little cut out made to form the pop up. Open it up and 3 happy stars pop up in from of a layered and popped flourished star. All the faces are from Peachy Keen Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment Stamps. The cuts are made from Cricut.com cartridges. Stars from George, flourished star from Wall Decor and the sentiment from Fontopia. George was my very first cartridge in 2006 and Fontopia is my most recent cartridge 2012.

Reason #99 why you should premake Sympathy Cards

It is too hard to make them in the moment. We have a difficult funeral to attend this Saturday. The young niece of my BFF. That means cards for her mother, grandmother, sister and my BFF. I was stumped.

Nothing came to mind as this was so sudden. Well, I decided to buy them. In looking at them and the cost, I knew I could do better. Not fancy but I used my favorite cross from Cricut.com Wedding Solutions. (the only reason I got that cartridge and it is pretty much all I use it for. BUT I use it often.

The flowers are from MyCreativeTime Flower Petal Dies that came out this year. I inked the edges and layered the 3 sizes.

The ribbon and pearls and gems are from my stash. I did not have time to go through my sentiment stamps so I just printed what I wanted to say.

On the inside is a poem I wrote ages ago when my dad suddenly passed away. I was 36 years old and had to be the strong one for my mom, our children and everyone. You may find it helpful someday.

WE CANNOT KNOW WHAT LIES AHEAD

FROM DAY TO PASSING DAY,

WHAT CHANGES GOD IS PLANNING

IN HIS WISE AND LOVING WAY

WE CANNOT KNOW THE REASONS

HE ALLOWS BOTH JOY AND TEARS,

WHY WE MUST LOSE THE PRECIOUS ONES

WE’VE CHERISHED THROUGH THE YEARS.

WE CANNOT KNOW – BUT WE CAN TRUST,

AND FAITH CAN HELP US FIND

OUR WAY TO THOSE TOMORROWS

THAT WILL BRING US PEACE OF MIND.
