Balloon Topiary to Kick off Football Season 2011

I love this table top deoration. Just says celebrate all on its' own. I think I first made these when our daughter was in 8th grade. She is 31 now. Always fun to make and then just sit back and wait for the Ooohs and Ahhs. ~Enjoy

Cheerleader and Football Player are cut at 8 inches from Everyday Paperdoll. The R is cut at 1 inch from Varisty Lite Font.

Dinosaurs at La Brea Tar Pits 2011 - Nana, Papa and Michael

First Trip to the La Brea Tar Pits. We got to see Pit 23 where they had just that minute unearthed a jawbone from a Saber Tooth Cat. So cool. Michael and I made dinosaur puppets. He glued Qtip bones on some of them. Next, we plan to label them and divide them into meat and veggie eaters.

Challenge - Do a vacation layout with photos - past or present

Every year we take our grandson to Sea World. The first time he was 18 months old. It was 2008. To prepare him we watched the Shamu Webcam on the laptop each Wednesday. I just left it on and while we did lots of other things we could go check on the whales to see what they were up to. By the time our trip came they were friends. But no one young or old can imagine the size of these animals. I captured Michaels awe at the Shamu Show and in the Shark Tunnel. We have a great time every year, we are getting ready to go in a couple weeks but this first trip will always hold the very best memories. Enjoy.

I used cuts from Life is a Beach for the dolphin and shark. The title is cut from Nates' ABCs

Challenge - Use 4 Cuts from Pop Up Neighborhood

For those special birthday surprises you leave on a neighbors door step.

Challenge - Create a Scene

I pulled out all the stops to create a Flora and Fauna covered Hawaiian Beach. Hope you feel the warmth, hear the quiet of the waves, enjoy the peaceful sunrise and smell all the wonderful flowers. I used Luau, Life is a Beach and Traveler Cartridges. I hand cut my background to get sky, grass and sand. The Sunrise is torn paper. Enjoy.

Embossing Vellum

For this weeks challenge we had to try something we saw the design team create. I am also in the No Spending Ban so I had to use stuff from my stash. Lo and behold, I know hubby uses good quality vellum for drawing plans so I asked for some and he gave me a roll! Whoo hoo score.

I cut the flowers and embossed them with the Cuttlebug. I also embossed the top sheet of vellum to make the whole effect very lacy and light. I can see this is something I will us again. I love the look and was excited to eek out this challenge before time ended. My next challenge was getting it to photograph so you could see the embossing. Enjoy
