As Halloween approaches I find myself ready to put the orange and black away and start on fall and the other holidays. Tomrrow as I head to our daughters I found that I had a birthday gift for our son-in-law, treat boxes for the kids and that left my hands empty for our daughter! I love this paper and made this box from Artiste. It is cut at 3 1/2" and I used the acrylic from the cartridge box to cover the open window. I filled it with some of her favorite candies. I think she will like the card the best though.

The Witch is Out - Enjoy the ride
So todays challenges include Halloween signs and tags in Black in Orange. I got the inspiration for this sign as I unloaded the dishwasher and spied my clean/dirty tulip magnet.
I decided to make a Witch is In/Out banner with little tags hanging from it. One of the challenges is on MyCreativeTime. I used the Polaroid frame Die Cut from the set Just Simply Live. As I had it out, I saw the perfect sentiment Enjoy the Ride! I just love finding cool things in unexpected places and just when I could incorporate them in my project. I stacked them all up and used my Crop-a-dile to line up all the holes and ran black and white twine from the Twinery to attach them together. I put a little orange bead between each one to add some glam and to weigh it down so that it doesn't blow around as someone walks by.
The Amazing Witch flying by the moon (or the sun since it is still 80 degrees here) is cut from Cricut Cartridge Celebrate with Flourish. I embossed it so all the layers matched up using a Cuttlebug folder. I really need to take the time to label those folders some day.
The colors fit the Orange and Black Halloween Challenge happening over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. Go check it out and enter your own creation.

3D Wall Decor
Everyone needs a sign! I attended Inspiration Unlimited with Teresa Collins and one of our classes was making this wonderful wood holder. I glued it and stained it and can you spy the TC finnial at the top and the gorgeous bling on the memo clip?
Anyway, I change out the holidays and special occasions and it makes a pretty decor on our mantle.
I made the pumpkins from MyCreativeTime Egg dies in the Welcome Spring set. This set is great since it has both the die and the stamps.
I stamped the cute little faces on the pumpkins with PeachyKeen Wide Eyed Kids. I curled the stems on the pumpkins to get the vines to look more realistic. Wide black rick rack was added for some punch and the sentiment was stamped from Inkadinkadoo.

Chic and Scary Halloween Banner
For my Halloween Banner I repurposed those fabulous 4"x4" coasters. I covered them with GCD Solutions Black Widows paper from the Spooked collection. I cut the paper in 4" squares and used a corner rounder on the corners. I then used the XL Label Die from MyCreativeTime and cut them out in a solid pumpkin colored textured cardstock from my stash. The letters are cut from Cricut.com Cartridge Chip Decor at 3 inches and the black characters are all cut from Cricut.com Chic and Scary by Teresa Collins. I added googlie eyes to every character and coordinated the banner by adding a cornered spider web to each tile. I tied white tulle for the ghostly illusion between the tiles. I also outlined the letters in blue stickles to give a little pop and have it break up the orange and black. I can leave it as is for inside decor or use Mod Podge on the whole thing and it would be ok outside.
HALLOWEEN AND CHRISTMAS have the same amount of letters so I will likely repurpose this again and make a Christmas banner on the back.

Things that go Trick or Treat in the Night
I got out some navy blue vellum with silver stars for the background of this card. Then added a 3 inch circle that I inked and chalked for the moon. The little shadowed kids and fence is cut from Cricut.com cartridge Trick or Treat at 4 inches. I added some black and orange twine from the Twinery and white washed the fence. This card is entered in the following challenge. Join the fun! http://pausedreamenjoychallenges.blogspot.com/2012/10/ch-42-night-project.html?showComment=1350872339044#c3616654147050147810

Thinking Beary special thoughts of you...
Peachy Keen Challenge 40 :: Just Cards :: Word Up!
Posted: 18 Oct 2012 09:26 PM PDT
Hello! SO glad you could join us for another Peachy Challenge! Ya'll really brought it home last week, and knocked that color combo outta the park! We absolutely LOVE
seeing what you come up with and we think you'll love this next challenge, too!
PKC Challenge 40 :: Just Cards :: Word Up
Here's what ya gotta do to play along with our challenge:
Create a card where the focus of the creation is the sentiment. You can accomplish this with clean and simple designs or let your creativity go wild with patterns and color, as long as the sentiment shines through as the main focus. That's it! Oh, yeah... have FUN, too!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, this was FUN! Are you tiring from Concertina Shaped cards yet? I am still playing with them and improving each time. I got out stamp sets from MyCreativeTime Beary Special Thoughts and Peachy Keen Stamps Mini Fairies and Gnomes. The Gnomes are colored with Spectrum Noir Alchohol Markers. The Trim is from Liz's Paper Loft in blue, brown and ivory. When you open the card...it looks like a party! The sentiment is pop dotted in 4 layers with each layer inked.
Thank you for stopping by.

Concertina Card with Pretty Pig on an Action Wobble
The challenge...Farm Animals. Hmmm. I just had to play with my new Cricut Cartridge Folk Art Mania. It has tulips on EVERYTHING! Even Farm Animals. I had my choice pigs, cows, rooster, chicken, etc. all with tulips. So, I nabbed the fabulous tutorial from SplitCoastStampers for my first Concertina Card and used some great rooster paper from Recollections Rooster Provincial. Both the Pig and its' frame are cut from Folk Art Festival. The pig is on an Action Wobble.

Boo!
Over at Pause Dream Enjoy they are having a challenge to use the word Boo!
So I pulled out Cricut Cartridge Mini Monsters and cut this cute little ghost and the word Boo. Added some googlie eyes, pop dots and pen dot accents to a layered card using this fabulous skull paper in greens and purples. So fun and so fast.

Happy Giggles and Smiles Gift Bag
Thank you Sandie for teaching us how to make gift bags out of 2 pieces of 12 x 12 cardstock. This great print from Recollections is the paper for my card since it included all the colors in the Peachy Keen Color Challenge. Now you can't have a PK creation and not use a cute PK face stamp so I made little Miss Candy Corn holding a sign that is stamped with Happy Giggles and Smiles. The handle for the bag is Celebration Sheer Ribbon in Orange.
Inside this bag is a nightie with a matching dolly nightie and a little necklace for a special birthday girl who is having her party this weekend.

Designer Challenge Thursday on MCT
Today it is pouring rain with loud thunder. I am staying in. I decided to participate in Shars Designer Challenge on MyCreativeTime.
The Challenge:
Welcome to Designer Challenge Thursday. I'm so excited to share with you my first designer challenge and hope you'll be able to play with us! I can't wait to see what you'll come up with. Because I'm a huge flower fan {in case perhaps you're a newbie, or possibly living under a rock ---- KIDDING!} I decided to challenge you to make your own flowers, a minimum of three (3), they don't have to be the same, incorporate some kind of bling, and use them on a card or layout. But there is a teensy twist -- you must use this lovely color palette for your project.
YELLOW
ROBINS EGG BLUE
BROWN
I used punches for the leaves, and MyCreativeTime Dies Rolled and layers flowers. I love the delicate look of cutting these from vellum. I ran some of the flowers through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. The flowers are all cut from the same vellum envelope. They look so different when you layer them or emboss and roll them. I added pearls, tulle and a beaded stick pin for the blingage. The sentiment Many Thanks is stamped from MyCreativeTime Tiny Tags.
I love when I see something in my head and it goes on the paper just like it is supposed to.

For a Mermaid it's all about the tail!
My granddaughter Makayla sent me a picture of a Mermaid costume she wanted. She did not want it to look like a Disney Mermaid. I used 8 different layers of various tulle, glittered tissue faile and metallic webbed fabric for the tail in various colors of greens, golds and pearl. It was difficut for me to snap a picture that captured the beautiful colors in the tail. I tried outside in natural light, inside in filtered light...you just couldn't see it. Then as it was hanging in the door jam of my craft room the light hit it just right!

Wishing You A Fairy Happy Birthday Bouquet Box
This weeks Peachy Keen Challenge is Anything Goes. After completing many cards, I wanted something different. I cut the Butterfly Box on the Cricut Cartridge Pink Journey. I stamped and colored the these adorable minis using Peachy Keen Mini Fairys and Gnomes. The sentiment Wishing you a Fairy Happy Birthday is also from that same set. I think fairies flutter around the flowers in the garden with the gnomes; so I used pop dots to put them on these silk flowers. I made the bouquet using the stir sticks that I have been hoarding from SBs!!! Added their own color twine from Trendy Twine and tied it all together with some pink tulle. Super quick and ready to add some treats for a gift.
PK Background Challenge
Peachy Keen Stamps has their October Release and for Challenge#2 we need to make a background using their spectacular background stamosor create our own background paper using their single stamps. Well...since I don't have their background stamps yet, I had to create my own.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I knew I wanted to incorporate that. So in looking at my collection of PK stamps I decided on Time. I used the clock and faces from PKSC-04-April 2012. It has great phrases like Take Time, Life is too Short, Make Every Minute Count. I colored my paper using Spectrum Noir Markers and stamped them with Stampin' Up ink except for the clockface that had to be permanent so it wouldn't smear when I colored it. The eyes are enhanced with a white Gelly Roll Pen and the Pink Ribbon is cut from Cricut.Com Pink Journey Cartridge. The Pink and Brown Twine is Trendy Twine.

Just for you, Teacher Thank you for month 1
It's time for a MyCreativeTime Challenge with guest host Tracy. The challenge to use those fun Googly Eyes. For my entry I wanted to use glasses from MyCreativeTime What's Growing On Die Cut Set and one of the Bears at 4" from Cricut.com Teddy Bear Parade. The sentiment is from MyCreativeTime More Gift Card Sentiments. The lidded googly eyes are from Darice and were found in the camp craft section.
Thank you For a Fairy nice weekend
Join in the fun. Another PK Sketch Challenge and there is still time for you to play. I am fresh off the plane from a creative time spent with friends across the nation. Arriving home needing to do stuff was fighting with wanting to do stuff. I HAD TO TRY TO MAKE SOMETHING FOR THE Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge. I have lots of Thank You notes to make for this event I attended in Atlanta.
I chose the cute little Fairy off PKSC-06 June 2012. A set I borrowed from my sweet friend Cassandra since I only have faces. Although if asked I would say my favorite color is pink...these muted colors of sage, coral and ivory are my favorite to design with and I tend to do it alot.
I ran the top layer of the card through my new Cuttlebug folder that I won at Circle Mania. The Fairy is colored with Spectrum Noir markers. The ribbon and buttons are from my stash and the sentiment is stamped with Peachy Keen PKSC-04 April 2012.
